Overview

Tekro is a modern dynamic company that has been specializing in production, marketing and consulting in the area of pet and agricultural animal nutrition. We hold a significant post on the market of additive ingredients (premixes) for agricultural animal nutrition in the Czech and Slovak Republic. A wide range of our products currently has more than 2 000 recipes produced in regard of the needs of each animal category. Besides of the premixes the main focus is on the production of vitamin-mineral mixtures, complete feeds, and specialized additional feed, veterinary medicaments for farming animals and both complete and additional pet feed for dogs and cats. Our products can be found in several European countries, and they are produced on tens of assembly lines in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Ukraine. An important part of cooperation with the fanciers is our consultation service. Through mutual cooperation we ensure health, good condition and vitality of animals in breeding. We cooperate with major significant world institutions dealing with animal nutrition and take part in many research projects in this field. Our priority is to create better quality life for our animals. Our efforts are focused on ensuring both health and excellent condition for animals.

History:

The company was founded in 1991 and within the first few years it became one of the biggest companies on the Czech and Slovak market of premixes.

1992: Foundation of Tekro Company in Slovakia
1995: Foundation of new production department in Nova Dedina near Olomouc; Rebuilding of new laboratory background
1996: Foundation of the branch in Ukraine
1997: Foundation of new production department in Slovakia in Dvory nad Zitavou
1998: Modernization of premix production lines in Nova Dedina
1999: Extension of production portfolio by a dog food under the trademark APORT
2000: Start of production and distribution of medicated feeds
2000: Certification ISO 9002
2001: Complex modernization of production department in Nova Dedina; Building of new modern technology for Pet food production; Extension range of products in the field of dog food by APORT Champion, APORT Ideal and Hubert
2002: Completion of modernization of production department in Nova Dedina; Extension of production portfolio by the cat food under the trademark ČIČI
2003: Registration of veterinary medicament production (HVLP)
2004: Certification HACCP; Extension range of products of dog food by Goro
2005: Extension range of products of dog food by Donny; 300g boxes of cat food ČIČI have been changed for 300g stand up pouches with special cover for keeping freshness and flavour of granules
2006: expansion of the product protfolio by the desinfectants for stables and farms.
2008: expansion of dog and cat food portfolio by the premium Eminent Cat food in two flavours - chicken and salmon.

Everything we have produced over the years was made for our "four-legged consumers". Because of them we modernize and constantly innovate our production so that they could be content with both our products and service. Our biggest reward is their health and high quality and valuable life.

Research background

Research background in our company is composed of a team of experts – nutritionists, veterinarians, development and technology specialists. We are partners with many world universities and institutions in the field of animal nutrition. Together with them we participate in special projects. In regard of extended laboratory background we do our own laboratory testing. Practical verification of our results can be also done in select breedings. Our goal is always a close interconnection between the theory and practice.

We carry out special training and workshops, participate in development of new products at colleges and in other institutions dealing with animal nutrition. Long term testing, including tests directly in breeding, always precedes the adding of select ingredients and changing of recipes. All changes that are suggested and verified by our research department are based on constant modernization and improvement of our product recipes. The new brands that come from our production have to go through a long series of tests and are continuously improved.
